The Valiants Drum & Bugle Corps. of Boston
(From a letter to local homeschool groups from the coordinator of the Drum
& Bugle Corps.)
"The Valiants are a musical ensemble, with members ranging in age from
8-16 years of age. We are based out of the Notre Dame Education Center, formerly
the Cardinal Cushing School, located in South Boston, and are fully sponsored
by the 5th ranked organization in the world, the Boston Crusaders Jr. Drum
& Bugle Corps. http://www.crusaders.com/
We are looking to expand our membership by recruiting children from the city
of Boston and it's surrounding areas. To that end, we are most interested
in making contact with Home Schooling Associations in order to offer membership
to Home Schooled Children. We are a non-profit organization, and we give musical
instruction for free, a great thing for the budget of any homeschooling family,
and the participants get a great opportunity to learn about music, and the
arts.
The Drum & Bugle Corps activity is a proven outlet for the development
of youth. Drum Corps can reach a broader cross section of children, it combines
teamwork, music, physical activity and provides an outlet for performance.
Today the Valiants have members from Massachsetts, New Hamshire, Maine, and
even Rhode Island."
